IARI-Assam will be a postgraduate institute of higher studies in agricultural education

The Cabinet has approved the proposal for setting up of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) Assam on 587 acres of land provided by Assam Government with a 100% outlay.

Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare said, "IARI-Assam will be a postgraduate institute of higher studies in agricultural education and will include farm crops, horticulture crops, agricultural forestry, animal husbandry, fishing, poultry farming, piggery farming, silk pest farming, honey production etc. They will recognize all the hallmarks including all areas of agriculture, which is in the IARI of New Delhi."

"IARI develop quality human resources for the creation of the North East India Assam overall productivity and sustainable development of agriculture, quality and increase profitability, promote agro-based industries and employment opportunities, the farmer friendly Prudogikiyon research in its mission towards the creation of early education expansion programs For the coordination of all existing central and state government R & D institutions and enterprises in the private sector will work on agricultural challenges and complexities of Northeast India", he added
