Approx Rs 2400 crore worth MoUs signed by the life sciences industry

In the presence of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay, the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave was held in Chennai on 13 august, marking a significant milestone in Tamil Nadu’s investment and employment journey.

A total of 97 MoUs were signed, attracting Rs 67,452 crore in investments and creating 1,06,998 employment opportunities. Foundation stones were laid for 8 projects worth Rs 4,476 crore, generating 5,074 jobs, while 5 projects involving Rs 2,676 crore investment and 1,550 jobs were inaugurated.

Within the life sciences sector, Trivitron Healthcare announced its Rs 200 crore brownfield expansion, creating approximately 200 direct employment opportunities and strengthening capabilities across Molecular Diagnostics, Intensive Care and Dialysis.

Caplin Point Laboratories has signed an MoU for an investment of Rs 925 crore towards establishing four new pharmaceutical manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu, including a Biologics & Biosimilars and Hormone injectables unit.

Green Signal Bio Pharma has announced an investment of Rs 130 crore, with 120 new job opportunities, focusing on vaccine manufacturing.

Genrobotics has marked a new milestone signing an MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu for a Rs 150 crore investment over the next five years to establish a high-end robotics manufacturing base, create 1,000+ jobs, and position Tamil Nadu as a global manufacturing and export hub for their robotics solutions.

CellBios Healthcare & LifeSciences has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish greenfield manufacturing units for cell & gene therapy based products in Dindigul and Krishnagiri, with an investment of Rs 150 crore, creating 250 new jobs.

AcrannoLife Genomics has announced an investment of Rs 210 crore, offering 210 new jobs for the development of molecular diagnostics equipment, genomics and precision medicine

KP Manish Global Ingredients has announced an investment of Rs 600 crore, with 400 new jobs opportunities, focusing on the development of API and pharma excipients.
