Bengaluru-based Genei Laboratories (formerly Pushkar Bioscience Private Limited) led by Dr. S. Chandrashekaran, Founder and MD, Vipragen Biosciences Pvt Ltd, (also founder, Enzene Biosciences Pvt Ltd; now a 100% subsidiary of Alkem Laboratories Ltd.) has acquired the manufacturing facilities of Bangalore Genei from Merck Life Sciences Private Limited in an asset purchase deal.

Bangalore Genei has been synonymous with high-quality lab reagents in India since it's founding in 1989. Its' products range from molecular biology, genomics and proteomics reagents to kits for use in teaching as well as contract research services.

"We will be retaining the GeNei brandname and products to supply quality reagents to customers. Concomitantly, we look to add newer lines of products based on customer feedback as well as providing the famed Genei custom services portfolio to academia and industry." said Dr. Chandrashekaran.

" While we bring to you the vast range of products and equipment associated with GeNei, we will also be working with new partners to introduce novel products and technologies. We aim to bring in innovative platform technologies for the development and manufacture of new reagents, peptides, biopharmaceuticals and diagnostic reagents.
