Seminar on the career prospects in biotechnology

The Department of Biotechnology, Sir MVIT is organizing a five-day seminar titled 'Recent Advances, Career Prospects & Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Biotechnology & Bio-engineering' (ABHYUDAYA 2014) during 24th - 28th March 2014 at the Sir MVIT Campus Bangalore.

The confluence of biotechnology with diverse branches of engineering has produced the growth of several varied industries in the areas related to biofuels, biosensors, biomedical devices, bioinformatics and similar state-of the art inter-disciplinary technologies.

This national level seminar-cum-workshop titled 'Recent Advances, Career Prospects & Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Bioengineering and Biotechnology' will entail of expert lectures, hands-on training sessions, career talks, group discussions, besides student paper & poster sessions, technical exhibitions and project idea presentations on different topics under life sciences, biotechnology & bioengineering, to facilitate interactions with industry and R&D partners.

Conversely, graduates of bioengineering and associated domains need to be well-versed with the modern cutting edge approaches and methods in industry in order to boost their employability. Graduates are also largely unaware of the opportunities for careers and higher studies in their chosen field.

In order to overcome these blockages that outbreak the spheres of bioengineering and biotechnology, an academic-industry communication forum is required to be known which would not only inform the graduate students of biotechnology and bioengineering with respect to range of opportunities and career paths, but also support them en route for industry oriented training and project activities.

This five day lond seminar will be of great help and interest to the Post-Graduates and Under-Graduate Students pursuing biological sciences degrees, Scientists and Scholars from R&D Institutes, Professionals from Industries and Biotech companies, Faculty from Universities and affiliated colleges and Dealers of Scientific Equipment, so on.
