XCyton Diagnostics, a molecular biology company has announced the appointment of Mr V Ramanathan as its chief executive officer. As the CEO of XCyton, Mr Ramanathan is focused on marketing and promoting XCyton's molecular diagnostic tests to empower physicians to help patients fight critical infections across the country. Mr Ramanathan is currently in the process of building a strong team and strengthening the business model to ramp up the organization. Mr Ramanathan has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical equipment industry in India and in the SAARC countries. He will report to Dr BV Ravi Kumar, managing director, XCyton Diagnostics.

Prior to joining XCyton, Mr Ramanathan had worked with Baxter as the business unit director, managing the medication delivery portfolio. Mr Ramanathan was primarily responsible for turning around the profitability of intravenous (IV) solutions and implementing strategies for driving growth of the new generation of IV solutions, anesthesia, inhalation agents, parental Nutrition, and anti infective agents. Before joining Baxter, he was a promoter and principle consultant at Biz Mindsmith, a business growth consulting company and has been the country manager at Karl Storz in India for three years. Prior to that, Mr Ramanathan worked with Boston Scientific for nine years its a business head.

Mr Ramanathan has a bachelor's degree in electronics and communication from Madras University and a post-graduate diploma in international management from Loyola Institute, Madras.
