Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel inaugurated the cutting-edge Varian TrueBeam 3.0 Radiotherapy system at Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad, marking a significant leap forward in precision cancer treatment in Gujarat.
The inauguration was attended by the hospital’s Radiation oncology team, other Oncologists and entire staff of oncology department.
The Varian TrueBeam 3.0 is a modern fully equipped most Advanced linear accelerator (LINAC) used for External beam radiotherapy for patients suffering from cancer. It delivers high-energy X-rays with exceptional accuracy, targeting tumours while sparing healthy surrounding tissues. For patients, this translates into faster treatment sessions, reduced side effects, and improved overall outcomes. Its ability to integrate advanced imaging with treatment also allows doctors to adapt therapy with greater precision for each individual case.
Speaking at the event, Rushikesh Patel said, “Ahmedabad has emerged as a hub for advanced healthcare, with patients from across Gujarat and neighbouring states and countries seeking treatment here. With this launch, Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad, has strengthened its role as a regional referral centre for advanced cancer care, blending cutting-edge technology with compassionate treatment. This was the first Radiation centre in corporate sector in Gujarat and has the highest number of Radiation treatment delivered to cancer patients with his experienced Team.
