Government Post Graduate College, Bilaspur, was established in 1952 and is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges of Himachal Pradesh. This college has been notified by the university among the top five best colleges among the 72 colleges affiliated to university. The department of biotechnology at the college is funded under the self-financing scheme.
Since 2008, the department has published four research papers in national and one in international publications respectively. Accredited with B++ Grade by NAAC, this college has established a glorious record of excellence and notable achievements in academics, sports, cultural and other fields over the last 56 years.
The college provides education in arts, science and commerce facilities. The college has well equipped laboratories, well stocked library, sports, NCC and NSS facilities, a girls hostel and residential quarters for its teaching and non-teaching staff.
