The fifth edition of
analytica Anacon India, the international trade fair and conference
covering major sectors like analytical instrumentation, biotechnology,
laboratory technology and services, will feature a portfolio of
exhibitors from India and abroad. The event will be held at Hitex
Exhibition Center, Hyderabad, from September 29 to October 1, 2009.
analytica Anacon India is part of the international exhibition network
including exhibitions like analytica Munich, analytica China and
analytica Vietnam.
In an exclusive
interview with BioSpectrum, Kurt Schraudy, managing director of IMAG
GmbH, the international arm of the Messe München Group,
Germany, which has over 60 years of experience in organizing
international trade fairs around the world, shares more about the kind
of platform offered by analytica Anacon India for the vibrant life
sciences industries in India.
What is the agenda
for the 5th analytica Anacon India?
This year’s exhibition is certainly aiming at the life
sciences sector and will have a broader showcase of the industry to
achieve better synergies for all participants. The three-day event is
accompanied by conference, poster presentation and business
forum. The conference is being organized by the Indian Analytical
Instruments Association (IAIA) with the support of Prof. Dr Dr hc A
Kettrup from the Department of Ecological Chemistry and Environment,
Technical University of Munich. Topic of the conference is
‘Analytical Instrumentation: Technologies for a better
quality of life’.
Knowledge transfer and direct communication shall be guaranteed during
the exhibition and the accompanying conference featuring talks by
leading experts of the sectors.
Which are the major
companies or institutions that are expected to participate this year?
Many new international companies like Joel, Showa Denko and TharSFC
intend to use analytica Anacon India as a platform to enter the Indian
market and to further their business activities. Apart from this,
several international biotechnology and diagnostics companies such as
Agilent, BUCHI, Bruker, Dionex, Eppendorf, GE Healthcare, INKARP,
Merck, Millipore, RFCL, Shimadzu, Spinco, Thermo Fisher and Waters will
participate in the event.
How will analytica
Anacon India benefit the biotech and diagnostics sectors in India?
analytica Anacon India – 2009, will give exhibiting companies
an international platform to present their latest developments and
innovations in sectors like biotechnology, analysis, laboratory
equipment, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and food industry. Our aim is to
create an information platform in India for experts of the industry,
R&D institutions, scientists and universities to share their
ideas and learn about the state-of-the-art technologies and
developments that are available for the industry.

Has global slowdown
affected the promotion of analytica Anacon India?
We are very pleased to notice that the responses for this
year’s analytica Anacon India and the scientific conference
are very encouraging in spite of the economic crisis. We can tell that
life sciences industries and research activities are
developing in India at a faster pace than ever before. In the budget
announced this year, the Indian government has allotted more funds for
upgrading public institutions and research centers in India. This is an
encouraging sign for the analytical industry.
