Catalysing the future of STEM professionals through a global community

11th edition of STEMPeers Annual Conference is set to take place at the prestigious David Rubenstein Forum at the University of Chicago, US on October 5, 2024. This event will bring together STEM professionals from around the world to share knowledge, network, and explore new opportunities for career advancement.

In the rapidly changing world, building a robust and diverse STEM workforce necessitates systemic and innovative training for the STEM professionals. Since its inception in 2015, STEMPeers is on a mission to empower the next generation of STEM professionals with necessary skills and support through innovative peer-sourced and community-based social entrepreneurship models.

With a staggering network of over 25,000 STEM professionals spanning 83 countries and more than 500+ organisations worldwide, STEMPeers' impact has been far-reaching and profound.

STEMPeers was recognised in a Nature Biotechnology article as one the leading organizations globally to have career programs for STEM PhDs. STEMPeers has created and nurtured platforms for early-career STEM professionals to connect, learn from each other, and access guidance from experienced mentors, providing valuable opportunities for skill development and networking.

Several of their programmes such as Club SciWri, The STEMTimes, MedNess, and Mentor Mantras are examples of cultivating communication and leadership skills in several areas. One of their science communication programmes, Onco-This-Week, was acquired by Rosenblatt Life Science Consultants earlier this year.

Their initiatives like the Gurukool program, a one-to-one mentorship model, and the STEMPeers Annual Conference have propelled over 300 industry transitions, facilitated funding exceeding $10K in fellowships to attend scientific conferences, and provided invaluable educational resources and mentorship opportunities. A Cell Press article featured their Gurukool programme.

All these initiatives have been carefully crafted to develop technical and leadership skills while promoting social consciousness. The entire programmatic ecosystem catalyses professional and personal growth, facilitating numerous successful career transitions.
