The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has announced the registration of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus by the Ministry of Health of Lebanon.
The vaccine was approved under the emergency use authorisation procedure without additional clinical trials in the country.
Sputnik V has been approved earlier in Russia, Belarus, Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine, Venezuela, Paraguay, Turkmenistan, Hungary, UAE, Iran, Republic of Guinea, Tunisia, Armenia, Mexico, Nicaragua and Republika Srpska (entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Kirill Dmitriev, CEO, Russian Direct Investment Fund, said, “To date Sputnik V has been included in the national portfolio of vaccines against coronavirus by 20 countries, and this number will be increasing. Approval granted by the Ministry of Health will provide the population of Lebanon access to one of the best vaccines in the world.”
