Designed to address India’s persistent challenge of waterborne diseases, CLUIX C012 brings laboratory-grade testing directly to the field

Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys, underscored its commitment to strengthening India’s public health landscape through innovation by spotlighting a transformative healthcare solution at the Aarohan Social Innovation Awards 2025.

The Foundation honoured CLUIX C012—a groundbreaking, portable AI- and IoT-enabled water-quality analyser developed by innovators Chitranjan Singh and Robin Singh from New Delhi—with the top healthcare award and a grant of Rs 50 lakh.

Designed to address India’s persistent challenge of waterborne diseases, CLUIX C012 brings laboratory-grade testing directly to the field. The device can assess 14 crucial water parameters and generate accurate, real-time, GPS-tagged water-quality reports within minutes. By detecting contamination and identifying potential disease risks in under 30 minutes, the innovation enables faster decision-making for local authorities, healthcare workers, and communities, especially in underserved rural and peri-urban regions where access to reliable testing remains limited. The solution’s affordability, portability, and scalability mark a significant advancement in preventive healthcare and community health monitoring.

Reinforcing its focus on public health, Infosys Foundation also recognised two additional healthcare-focused innovations under the Jury’s Special Awards category.

Sukoon, a smart cooling jacket developed by Phalgun Mukesh Vyas from Pune, uses a Digital Hybrid-IDEC mechanism to reduce heat stress in individuals working in extreme temperature environments—promoting occupational safety, improving productivity, and protecting vulnerable populations such as industrial workers and first responders.

Another recognised innovation was CERVICHECK, India’s first CDSCO-approved at-home HPV self-sampling kit developed by Anirban Palit, Dr. Sayantani Pramanik, and Palna Patel from Vadodara. This pioneering solution empowers women to screen for cervical cancer early, privately, and affordably, removing barriers such as lack of access to gynecological services, social stigma, and logistical challenges.

Infosys Foundation also recognised another innovation titled Project Bindu –An initiative that creates remote, tech-enabled work ecosystems for persons with disabilities (PWDs), who in turn provide elderly-care services, backend support, data handling, and coordination. This enables PWDs to achieve economic independence and inclusion. It is developed by Sowmya S and Pallavi Kulkarni from Pune.

By recognising these impactful innovations, Infosys Foundation reaffirms its mission to enable healthcare solutions that are accessible, technology-driven, and deeply rooted in community needs. The Foundation emphasized that these award-winning initiatives have the potential to significantly strengthen India’s public health systems, reduce preventable diseases, and ensure more equitable healthcare outcomes across the country.

Salil Parekh, Chairman, Infosys Foundation, said, “Innovation with purpose has the power to transform lives and build a sustainable future. The Aarohan Social Innovation Awards stand as a testament to this belief, recognizing individuals who transform challenges into opportunities with ingenuity, empathy, and impact. By championing groundbreaking work across education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability, we at Infosys Foundation aim to strengthen the impact of such innovations and inspire a generation of changemakers committed to building an equitable and resilient future.”

Sumit Virmani, Trustee, Infosys Foundation, said, “At the heart of the Aarohan Social Innovation Awards lies the belief that ordinary people can do extraordinary things. The dedication and imagination of this year’s winners speak of what is possible when innovation is rooted in compassion. We are inspired by their resolve to create sustainable, community-first solutions, and hope their efforts continue to spark positive change across the country.”

Selected from over 2,000 entries, the winners were chosen by an eminent jury comprising: Abhijit Ray, Co-founder, Unitus Capital and UC Inclusive Credit; Alina Alam, Founder, MITTI Café; Aparna Uppaluri, Founder and Principal Advisor, Antara Advisory; Sumit Virmani, Trustee, Infosys Foundation and Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar, Trustee, Infosys Foundation.

Its mission is to work with the underprivileged across the country and strive towards a more equitable society.
