"I dont think we will be free from Covid -19 in the very near future. We might see another bout when the temp comes down in Nov-Dec period and those who were not infected now may get the same then and the same cycle might run for few years till we develop immunity like common influenza virus.

Few steps to be taken by the government can be-

Extensive testing of asymptomatic carriers and doing effective quarantine to stop the spread. We need millions to be tested.

Lock down of all non essential operations

Be ready to convert Govt bldg/Stadiums/Empty land to quarantine facilities as well as Hospitals .

Involve industry to scale up manufacturing of Essential medical tools like Ventitalors (Tata's, Reliance and many other have to step up and meet this need).

Launch extensive surveillance of all positive samples (store them properly for research too in biobanks) by sequencing the virus strains to find the changes and origin to make informed decisions.'
