Columbia Asia will be opening its 12^th hospital in Bengaluru this month. Columbia Asia is a private healthcare company owned by a US based investment fund International Columbia USA LLC. This is the fifth and largest facility in India by Columbia Asia.

The other arms of Columbia USA include Columbia Africa, Columbia China and Columbia South East Asia. Columbia South East Asia takes care of Vietnam Indonesia and Malaysia. The Columbia Asia Group is owned by more than 150 private equity companies, fund management organisations and individual investors.

Investors in Columbia Pacific are aiming at old age homes. A new company, Serene Senior Care, has been incorporated. Preventive and curative care will be taken up by Columbia Asia for senior citizens. Living space will be provided by Serene.

International Columbia USA bought Serene in March for an undisclosed sum. Serene operates four senior housing communities in south India in Chennai, Puducherry and Coimbatore.
