With the mission to eliminate avoidable blindness, Sankara Academy of Vision has been consistently in the forefront providing effective and innovative solutions for quality eye care.
Sankara Academy of Vision, the education & training initiative of Sankara Eye Foundation has entered a strategic MoU with Tonghua Eye Hospital, a leading eye care centre in China. Under the MoU, Chinese eye surgeons will be trained at the centre for cataract surgery.
With the mission to eliminate avoidable blindness, Sankara Academy of Vision has been consistently in the forefront providing effective and innovative solutions for quality eye care.
The MoU is another major step towards Sankara Academy of Vision’s commitment to social equity and work towards the nation’s interest of eliminating blindness through education, capacity building and research.
Dr R V Ramani, founder Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Medical Trust pointed out that Sankara Academy of Vision has been providing advanced training to eye surgeons from India and across the world. This partnership between India and China has entered during the 40th year of their movement.
Dr Zhao, President Tonghua Eye Hospital China, mentioned that having seen the work at Sankara and interacting with their leadership, Chinese Ophthalmologists will surely benefit from the training.
