Kolkata-based Glocal Healthcare Services is all set to 'take smart care to rural areas' by rolling out some 5,000 odd telemedicine centres across the country in the next two years.

The ball was set rolling early this month with a first of its kind initiative being taken up by the government of Rajasthan and Glocal jointly. The two jointly intend to set up one hundred telemedicine centres spanning across 31 district hospitals, 19 sub-division hospitals, 6 satellite hospitals and 44 community health centres.

These centres will be connected to a central hub of doctors for consultation with a team of on-ground healthcare workers equipped to offer patient care at the point of requirement.

Glocal Healthcare has so far established eleven hospitals in rural Bengal, UP, Bihar and Odisha. It has developed its own software Litmus DX which is being used for dispensing online healthcare. The healthcare company has been providing comprehensive care services at primary health centre levels in the states of Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and West Bengal. The latest partnership with Rajasthan government under the aegis of the National Health Commission will enable it to provide primary healthcare to the rural masses of Rajasthan.
