Philips Healthcare gets a new President
Mr Garde will be responsible for driving and building the healthcare business for Philips in India
Phillips Healthcare has announced the appointment of Mr Sameer Garde as the president for the South Asia region. Mr Garde's tenure becomes effective from July 22, 2014 and he will be based in Gurgaon. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving and building the healthcare business for Philips in India. He replaces Mr Krishna Kumar, who continued to lead the Philips Healthcare business following his appointment as vice chairman and managing director, Philips India in December 2013.
Mr Garde has extensive experience in a career spanning over 24 years. He started his career in the consumer industry before transitioning to the B2B segment. He brings in extensive experience in driving sales and defining marketing growth opportunities for both B2C and B2B companies. He has worked with many industry giants such as Whirlpool, Dell International, Nestle, Pepsi, and Samsung. Speaking about his new role, Mr Garde said, "I am looking forward to this new role and am excited about working with the Philips Healthcare team to strengthen our leadership in the healthcare space in India."
