Health Minister inaugurates AI-based e-ICU command centre at Yashoda Medicity

J P Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, inaugurated the Artificial Intelligence (AI) based e-ICU Command Centre at Yashoda Medicity, Ghaziabad.

The Command Centre has been developed with the objective of integrating Artificial Intelligence with centralized surveillance systems to improve clinical outcomes and make the management of Intensive Care Units more effective, streamlined and coordinated.

Union Health Minister stated that AI-enabled healthcare services integrate timely medical interventions, accuracy in disease detection, and real-time monitoring, which are of utmost importance in emergency and intensive care situations, where immediate decisions can significantly impact the patient's treatment outcomes.

He mentioned that AI-assisted ICUs provide early warning in adverse clinical situations, ensure better identification of high-risk cases and help physicians make more effective decisions through data-based analytical information. He said that the inauguration of the AI-based e-ICU Command Centre will further strengthen critical care services and play a crucial role in strengthening patient safety.

The AI-enabled e-ICU installed at Yashoda Medicity connects the Base Command Centre of the Command Centre with the ICU facility of MMG District Hospital, enabling Artificial Intelligence-enabled real-time monitoring of critically ill patients. The system integrates hospital information systems and bedside devices with a centralised dashboard where AI-based analytics support risk classification, issue early warnings in case of deterioration in clinical status, and ensure timely and evidence-based therapeutic intervention through round-the-clock expert monitoring.
