Calls on Vice President of India to extend support for thalassemia patients
Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) a registered non-profit organisation along with a few NGO's working towards thalassemia met the Vice President, Venkaiah Naidu, discussed the situation of thalassemia in India and the need for a bill to prevent thalassemia.
TSCS President Chandrakant Agarwal invited the Vice President for the inauguration of a prominent research lab at TSCS. TSCS recently organised a first-of-its-kind national level conference on the Prevention of Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia bringing together several NGO's who have been working rigorously for thalassemia treatment and prevention.
TSCS along with nine other NGOs from all over India have drafted the bill for prevention of Thalassemia. A copy of the bill has also been submitted to the government which has to present in the Parliament, for implementation.
