Sarvodaya Hospital at Sector 8, Faridabad, has launched a specialised ENT and Cochlear Implant Centre for specially-abled deaf and mute people. The state-of-the-art centre will perform rhinoplasty, cochlear implantation and advanced surgeries for sleep apnea and snoring.
Sarvodaya Hospital, Faridabad, is also running a free cochlear implant scheme of the Government of India. Under this, if a child below 5 years of age and a monthly family income of less than Rs 15,000 needs a cochlear implant, the government bears all the expenses (about Rs 9 lakhs in total) as well provides free speech therapy for the next two years. Sarvodaya Hospital is only the second hospital in Haryana to be recognised for implanting cochlear implants funded by the Government of India. It was selected for cochlear implantation after passing the criteria of having a well-equipped ENT centre with modern technology and a team of skilled doctors. The hospital has now achieved the milestone of performing cochlear implants on 200 deaf-and-mute children under the Govt. of India scheme.
