With cases of coronavirus death rapidly increasing in Maharashtra, digital CME provider Omnicuris has launched a specially designed Covid-19 module that will offer the requisite medical skill and knowledge to the doctors to deal with the global pandemic using digital technology. For this initiative, Omnicuris has collaborated with Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC), which has been providing the module on their platform for the doctors.

The module includes all minute details for doctors right from precautions to be taken while in contact with a suspect, how to take care of personal hygiene, how to conduct testing for a suspect to the guidelines on how to treat patients.

This initiative aims to strengthen the health care workforce, speed up the process of testing and treatment and provide protective cover to the doctors, who are themselves at high risk of contracting the infection and, possibly, dying of it due to the shortage of PPE kit.

Through this association, Omnicuris will be able to strengthen its scientific expertise and facilities and widen its reach to doctors with their digital lectures during the nationwide lockdown.

Savitha Kuttan, Founder & CEO of Omnicuris said, “We are very happy to collaborate with the Maharashtra Medical Council. Through this association, we will be able to reach out to the maximum doctors, who have been at the frontlines to treat the COVID-19 patients. Making this training available to the people of the healthcare industry is an important element to breaking the unbreakable chain of coronavirus pandemic and will also provide an aid to our industry. With our disease burden due to the COVID-19 is constantly increasing, continuous skill upgradation and training healthcare professionals become the need of hour for all the doctors.”

The collaboration will also enable the doctors to complete their CME hours, which is needed for the renewal of doctor’s license besides imparting knowledge on dealing coronavirus.

Dr. Utture Shivkumar Shankar, President, Maharashtra Medical Council said, “As you all are aware this covid-19 problem is affecting one and all not only in India but all over the world. Since this is a very new disease, we are not yet sure the cause and ultimate effect the disease will have on everyone, Maharashtra medical Council has decided to bring to you on their platform these CMEs so that all of you can be educated what exactly this Covid-19 disease is and how we are going to manage this disease. We have gone ahead and allowed you to use these CMEs from the platform and at the same time you will be allotted CME credit hours which are mandatory to acquire the renewal of their license. We thank Omnicuris for this armline CME platform so that all members can sit at their residence and go through these CMEs and at the same time they can get CME credit hours. So, all the best to all of you.”
