The Nayati Cancer Centre offers holistic integrated care via medical, surgical and radiation technology for end-to-end treatment

Nayati Cancer Centre – a unit of Nayati Healthcare, India’s first hospital chain committed to providing world-class healthcare services to masses – served more than 1,000 cancer patients since its inception in November 2017by providing specialized cancer care in Nayati Medicity, Mathura.

Speaking on the occasion, Niira Radia, Chairperson – Nayati Healthcare, stated “Uttar Pradesh has the highest incidence of cancer in the country and to address this challenge in a comprehensive yet humane manner we established a well-equipped Cancer Centre in November 2017. In last 5 years, through our outreach program we have screened close to 9 lakh people for cancer and a sizeable population was found to have early-stage cancer or pre-malignant conditions. To cater to the rising cancer cases we decided to set up the most advanced state-of-the-art facility for cancer care at Mathura.

The very word cancer shatters us in three ways- one the fear of living with an incurable disease, secondly being burdened by its expensive treatment and thirdly the trauma of travelling long distance. An end- to- end cancer centre where preventive care to advanced diagnostics to treatment with the best in class technology for the right radiation dose in shortest possible time was set up for managing the cancer cases thereby addressing the challenges faced by the patients. We have now come up with a Bone Marrow Transplant program and we are today the only cente in the region to have all the services under one roof. Our centre is today frequented not just by the patients of Western Uttar Pradesh but whole of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and we are also seeing a reverse flow from Delhi NCR. We are confident, in the years to come, the Nayati Cancer Centre at Mathura will emerge as one of the most recognized cancer centre of the world.“ she further added.

The Nayati Cancer Centre offers holistic integrated care via medical, surgical and radiation technology for end-to-end treatment. Besides minimal access and open surgical interventions for different cancers, high-end radiation therapy, critical care, bone marrow transplantation, palliative care, isolation rooms, plastic and reconstructive surgery, pain clinics and counselling services are also available.

Dr (Prof) Santanu Chaudhuri, Chairman, Centre for Oncology – Nayati Healthcare, said, “It is a proud day for all of us in crossing a major milestone of serving more than 1,000 lives via successful cancer treatment. As per the Nayati Cancer Directory, we have observed that 30% of the total cancer patients fall under the 51-60 age group, with the majority being diagnosed with head-and-neck cancer followed by genito-urinary and breast cancer. Others were diagnosed with cancers related to bone & soft tissue, brain, lung, lymphoma, gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary & pancreas, skin, and other forms. Cancer is completely curable provided it is detected timely. The increasing number of our cancer survivors are a testimony to that. To reduce the mortality rate due to cancer, it is imperative it is caught early hence we appeal to people above 40 to get their cancer screening done every year.”

“We have set up a tumour board internally at our Cancer Centre that’s a multidisciplinary team effort for this complex condition. When cancer is diagnosed, patients always seek more personalized care and want as many people as possible to work together in treating them. The board discusses every case and work out the best treatment modality. Nayati Medicity’s Cancer Centre holds hope for the growing number of patients via advanced and comprehensive cancer care,” he further added.

Dr. Rupashree Dasgupta, Director & HOD - Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology stated, “We are seeing an increasing number of gynaecological cancer patients from the region suffering from uterine, cervical, and ovarian cancer. We understand the need of the Aligarh communities and Nayati’s endeavor has always been to reduce the trauma of patients travelling long distance hence our Nayati teams are available in Aligarh on second and fourth Tuesday of every month from 10 am – 2 pm at Maxfort Hospital. We all know that Cancer is a disease affecting not just the individual but his/her entire family. Therefore, at Nayati Medicity, we organize a unique program “Cancer Support Group” for patients, families, and caregivers. Apart from providing basic cancer care information, patients get an opportunity to share their experiences with other survivors. A good support system boosts the chances of survival, including long-term recovery and rehabilitation.”
