CCI nod for Siemens-Beckman deal
Beckman Coulter is a part of Danaher Corporation
The proposed acquisition of microbiology testing business of Siemens Healthcare and its subsidiaries by Beckman Coulter and its subsidiaries globally has received green signal form the Competition Commission of India (CCI), says reports.
As per the deal Siemens India's microbiology testing business assets would be transferred from Siemens India to Beckman Coulter India. CCI believes that the proposed combination will not have any adverse effect on the competition in India.
Beckman Coulter is a part of Danaher Corporation and is involved in manufacturing of biomedical laboratory instruments.
"No subsidiary of Danaher Corporation including Beckman Coulter and Beckman Coulter India has any activities in the bacteriology and mycology testing market or even in the broader segment of microbiology in vitro diagnostics, in India. Therefore, it is observed that there is no overlap between the activities of the buyers in India and the microbiology testing business of Siemens India," CCI said in a statement.
