The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MoSDE) has instituted the National Entrepreneurship Awards to encourage entrepreneurship across the country.
Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed, CEO and Director, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), received the National Entrepreneurship Award on behalf of C-CAMP during the Awards Ceremony for the National Entrepreneurship Awards 2017.
The award was presented by Shri Arun Jaitley, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, in presence of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Honourable Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Govt. of India, Shri Anantkumar Hegde, MoS, MSDE and Smt. Chanda Kochhar, MD & CEO, ICICI Bank.

The awards recognize entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship ecosystem builders for their outstanding efforts. The Awards also seek to highlight models of excellence for others to emulate and improve upon. C-CAMP received the Recognition Award in the Government Category.
C-CAMP bio-incubator has in the last few years emerged as a thriving hub for innovation and a vibrant ecosystem, where it has supported over 85 innovative biotech/life science start-ups through Seed funding, Bio-incubation, Mentorship and other facilitation Activities.
The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) is a Department of Biotechnology DBT, Govt. of India) initiative and a member of the Bangalore Life Science Cluster, which includes NCBS and InStem. C-CAMP was established with the aim of enabling cutting-edge bio-science research and entrepreneurship by: i) making available state-of-the-art technologies and providing training on these technologies to academia and industry, ii) building a thriving ecosystem to stimulate innovation and promote bio-tech entrepreneurship in India.
