Smart Bio Awards 2025 celebrate Karnataka’s Bio-Innovation Leaders at BTS 2025

The Smart Bio Awards 2025, held during the prestigious Bengaluru Tech Summit from 18th to 20th November 2025, offered a vibrant snapshot of Karnataka’s rapidly growing bio-innovation ecosystem. The evening also featured the Global Leaders’ Dinner, where industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers came together to recognize excellence across the state’s biotechnology landscape.

This year’s awards celebrated outstanding contributions in biotech research, entrepreneurship, and innovation-

• MicroBiotx Pvt Ltd was honoured as Startup of the Year for its cutting-edge advancements and scalable biotech solutions
• InnAccel India Pvt Ltd received the Innovator of the Year Award, recognising its impactful MedTech innovations designed for India and global markets
• Payal Patel, founder of Agropak Pvt Ltd, was awarded Women Entrepreneur of the Year for pioneering work in agri-biotechnology
• TheraXcel Pvt Ltd was named Best Campus of the Year, acknowledging its strong innovation culture and translational research environment
• Koppa & Sri Gowri Bhargava Pvt Ltd, Chikkamagaluru, received the Startup of the Year – Beyond Bengaluru award, reflecting Karnataka’s commitment to fostering innovation across all regions of the state

The event showcased the strength and diversity of Karnataka’s biotechnology ecosystem—spanning MedTech, AgriBio, industrial biotech, and deep-tech research—while reaffirming the state’s position as India’s leading hub for bio-innovation.
