Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka, inaugurated the 28th edition of the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 (BTS 2025), organised by the Department of Electronics, IT & Bt, Government of Karnataka, and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) on November 18 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
In his inaugural address at BTS 2025, Siddaramaiah emphasised that this year’s theme, Futurise, brings 9 defining tech tracks designed to showcase tomorrow’s innovations. He reaffirmed Karnataka’s commitment to equality, inclusion, and a world-class tech ecosystem, noting the state’s leadership in IT policies since 1997, its contribution of 42% to India’s IT exports, and the growing impact of the Beyond Bengaluru initiative that empowers Tier-2 cities. He called on everyone to come together over the next three days to innovate, collaborate, and push the boundaries of human progress.
D.K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka celebrated Bengaluru as the startup capital of India and highlighted new government initiatives to boost rural education, urging everyone to work together toward an innovative and inclusive future.
Dr Manjula N, IAS, Secretary to Government, Department of Electronics, IT, Bt and S&T, Govt. of Karnataka highlighted Bengaluru’s legacy of technology, innovation and inclusive growth. With the move to India’s 3rd largest venue, the unveiling of Karnataka’s Space Tech Policy, and the launch of the Future Makers Conclave, she said, “BTS 2025 is all about empowering startups, entrepreneurs and future builders with meaningful, future-ready opportunities.”
The inaugural plenary, “India Futurises: From Leap-frogging to Pole-vaulting,” brought together some of the biggest voices shaping India’s tech landscape, including Priyank Kharge, HMinister for IT & Bt and RDPR, Govt. of Karnataka; Kris Gopalakrishnan Co-Founder, Infosys; Chairman, Axilor Ventures and Chairperson- Vision Group on IT & Electronics- Govt. of Karnataka; Dr Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Executive Chairperson and Founder, Biocon Limited and Chairperson, Vision Group on Biotechnology- Govt. of Karnataka; Prashanth Prakash, Founding Partner – Accel India and Chairperson- Vision Group on Startups- Govt. of Karnataka.
Day 1 of BTS 2025 also witnessed a session on “Emerging Technologies Shaping the Future of Biotechnology” bringing together thought leaders and innovators to discuss how AI, data science, and cutting-edge research are redefining the boundaries of biotech.
A session on “Personalized Medicine and Therapeutics” explored the evolving landscape of healthcare, where innovation meets individuality.
Further, a session on “Biotechnology Startups and the Funding Landscape” brought together investors, innovators, and industry leaders to discuss the evolving dynamics of India’s biotech sector.
