The Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) has launched the special edition of Women In Entrepreneurial Research (WInER) Award for the women entrepreneurs in biotech sector in the states of North East Region of the country.
The purpose of the Award is to recognize, reward and support women entrepreneurs in biotech sector implementing their innovative solutions in the north eastern states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
Under this award programme, top 5 women entrepreneurs implementing their innovative products/technologies in the north east region will be awarded with Award money of Rs.5 lakhs each; access to BIRAC’s expert mentor network; and opportunity to participate in BIRAC’s accelerator programme.
Under this Award programme, a proposal can only be submitted by Indian company, registered under the Indian Companies Act, 1956/2013 with woman entrepreneur as principal investigator. The company should be in existence for less than 10 years as on closure of the call. Minimum 51% of the shares of the Company should be held by Indian Citizens holding Indian passport (Indian Citizens do not include Person of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) holders).
Under this programme, a woman entrepreneur should be the principal investigator of the submitted project for consideration under this application; an Indian Citizen holding Indian passport; and one of the promoter shareholders of the Indian Company.
Only online applications are accepted for this BIRAC programme till January 15, 2020.
