Bangalore-based Siri Technologies has entered the bioinformatics sector and plans to employ over 50 professionals to develop products and services.
Announcing this, Srikanth Machkanthi, co-founder and CEO of Siri Technologies said, "we have been looking at this sector for a while and are emphatically convinced that it offers enormous potential and scope for a full-blown IT service provider like us. This would also allow us to leverage the capabilities we had built in-house through our extensive exposure to the life sciences sector. And as far as I could see, the timing is right as the market for product development and services in this sector is just booming."
Siri Technologies is a software and consulting services provider and offers a range of services including business and technology consulting, business process and technology re-engineering, custom application development and formal testing. Now the company has diversified its expertise from areas like health care, logistics and embedded systems. The company was recently assessed at Level 4 of the capability maturity model (CMM) of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University and has been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certification.
