About 90 percent of the sales of Sartorius Stedim India comes from domestic business while the rest from the exports

Sartorius Stedim India is a part of the Sartorius Group, a global laboratory and process technology provider covering the segments of biotechnology and mechatronics. The company reported a sales revenue of 166.05 crore from its life sciences business in 2010-11 as against 145 crore in 2009-10.

About 90 percent of the sales of Sartorius Stedim India comes from domestic business while the rest from the exports.

Through its presence in India, Sartorius brings the expertise of Sartorius group to its Indian customers apart from adding value through quality manufacturing of engineered systems in biotechnology and
mechatronics.

In June 2010, Sartorius Stedim Biotech, launched Sartoflow Alpha plus SU — a new system that combines highest cross flow filtration performance and single-use technology.

The easy-to-use system delivers full operational flexibility and is optimized for ultrafiltration, microfiltration and diafiltration applications used in many downstream processes like purification of vaccines, monoclonal antibodies or recombinant
proteins.

In 2010, it expanded its array of ultrafilters with the Sartocon ECO series of ultrafilters, which have been developed for biotechnological and pharmaceutical purification processes in the industry for the manufacture of vaccines and monoclonal antibodies.

In March 2011, Sartorius Stedim Biotech, expanded its portfolio for quality assurance in the lab by launching Microsart @vance, which has been specifically designed for microbiological quality control in the pharma and biopharma industries.

Among other products, Sartorius in Bangalore, develops and manufactures bioreactors and additional equipment for pharmaceutical customers, lab equipment as well scales and other weighing equipment for industrial applications. It exports its products and components to Group companies in Germany and other Asian countries.
