Speaking in Shimla on June 04, where he launched the health Ministry's website on Mission Indradhanush, health minister, Mr J PNadda said that since December when the programme was launched, the central government has covered 40 lakh children of the 90 lakh it had mapped for this year.

The health minister launched also launched a mobile application for field health managers, who will use it to update data which will reach the health minister on real-time basis.

10 high priority districts have been identified for vaccination programme 'Mission Indradhanush' to cover 90 percent kids by 2020. Mr Nadda said, "There has been a five percent increase in immunization in every phase since the launch of the campaign on April 7. The immunization program will ensure that no child is left un-vaccinated by 2020."

Heh minister further said the ministry has set a target to bring the infant morality rate to single digits from the existing 28 per 1000 infants. Nadda said as part of this initiative, the government has inducted a new vaccine, Pentavalent (to combat diseases like Diphtheria, whooping cough and Tetanus) Hepatitis B and Hib vaccines. He said the immunisation program has been designed on lines of the successful polio programme to ensure that no child is left un-vaccinated by 2020. There will be increase of five per cent more children every year.
