Sanjeeb Panda Passes Away

The ever-smiling Sanjeeb Panda, the marketing face of BioSpectrum in the Northern Region since its launch is no more. He passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi around midnight on Saturday, November 20. The death occurred due to brain haemorrhage. Sanjeeb was 30.

Sanjeeb was suffering from a viral fever from November 15 and was on medication. His roommates rushed him to AIIMS when he experienced some paralytic attack. He slipped into coma at AIIMS and doctors diagnosed it to be a previously undetected tumor in the brain. Sanjeeb passed away around midnight.

Sanjeeb's mortal remains were flown to his parent's home in Sambalpur, Orissa and the cremation took place on November 21.

A B Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Sanjeeb joined BioSpectrum prior to its launch in November 2002. Due to his hard work, and affable nature which won him friends instantly, Sanjeeb emerged as the magazine's leading sales person in a very short time. Extremely well read and knowledgeable about diverse fields, Sanjeeb enthralled his colleagues and friends in debates and knowledge-sharing. The eldest of two siblings, Sanjeeb was the sole breadwinner for his family. His father recently retired from service and Sanjeeb was supporting his younger brother's education.

He was the rare cricket buff who shunned television broadcasts to be able to spend more quality time with his friends. His small apartment in South Delhi was the abode of a wide circle of friends and relatives who trooped into Delhi to make a career in education and the booming BPO sector.

Sanjeeb's passing away is a great loss to BioSpectrum, CyberMedia and the biotechnology sector. All Cyberites join his family in this hour of grief and pray for his soul to rest in peace.
