BIO 2014: Taiwan promotes its biotech industry

The Taiwan biotech industry left no stone unturned to promote its aggressively growing Biotech industry at the 2014 BIO International Convention held at San Diego.

"Taiwan's biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies have become potential partners for big industry players," the head of the Taiwanese delegation at BIO2014, Mr Chiang Been-huang said in a statement.

He further added that Taiwan's biotechnology companies were flourishing and this convention would help in establishing more global partnerships, which would mark the presence of Taiwan in the world market.

At the convention, the Taiwanese companies showcased their new medicines and other healthcare ventures aiming to attract potential industry players to invest in the country's biotech parks.

The country's biotechnology sector was represented by a dozen leading Taiwanese biotechnology companies and government agencies.

Mr Been Huang said that the biotech industry in Taiwan was growing fast and would play an instrumental role in shaping the economy of the country. He said that the convention would play a major role in influencing many foreign companies to invest in Taiwan's biotech sector.
