On the basis of the recommendation of the selection committee in its meeting held on May 17, 2014, four nominations have been selected for the Biotech Product and Process Development and Commercialization Awards 2014. The awardees will recieve two lakhs each.

Among those who have been selected include Dr Indrani Karunasagar, professor, Department of Fisheries Microbiology, Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University College of Fisheries, Mangalore. The next award is for the six member team led by Dr Thukkaram Damodaran, senior scientist (Horticulture), Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Regional Research Station, Lucknow.

The rest of the two awards would be given to Dr Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, professor and head, Department of Biochemistry, University of Delhi and a three member team led by Dr Abraham Verghese, director, National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Insects,Bangalore.
