Apollo Pharmacy resumes sale of Ranbaxy drugs

As per the statement issued on June 13, 2013 by the Apollo Pharmacy, "We have been working with Ranbaxy over the past week to validate the necessary documentation in line with quality standards followed by International quality certifying authorities. Ranbaxy has provided us Batch quality certification for all their products certified by the government approved certifying laboratories. The reports completely satisfy the quality norms stipulated by WHO-GMP, department of pharmaceuticals, government of India as well as Drug and Cosmetic Act."

Apollo Pharmacy is a division of healthcare major Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (AHEL). The chain is present across the country, both as standalone standard format stores and those attached to AHEL hospitals and clinics. Despite having asked its stores to temporarily suspend the sale of Ranaxy drugs earlier,  the hospital, however, had not issued any separate advisory to its doctors.

The statement issued to media mentioned further, "We have also understood the stance of the DGHS of India in this regard and received confirmation from them that there are no quality issues in the Ranbaxy Products currently marketed in India. We are glad that this issue has been resolved. We will continue to stock and dispense Ranbaxy products across all our pharmacies and continue to provide the best patient care without missing a beat."
