FDA approves Orchids' generic drugs

The approval is for generic Rivastigmine capsules and Felodipine extended release tablets

Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals has received the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) approval for generic Rivastigmine capsules and Felodipine extended release tablets aimed at treating mild to moderate dementia and hypertension, respectively.

The company has received approval from the US FDA for the Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Rivastigmine capsules in 1.5 mg, 3 mg, 4.5 mg, 6 mg strengths and Felodipine extended release tablets in 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg strengths, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
