Eppendorf is a biotech company which develops, produces and distributes systems for use in life sciences research laboratories worldwide. Its product range includes pipettes, dispensers and centrifuges as well as consumables such as micro test tubes and pipette tips. In addition, Eppendorf provides instruments and systems for cell manipulation, automated devices for liquid handling, complete equipment for DNA amplification and biochips.

Eppendorf India, with its headquarters in Chennai is the Indian arm of Eppendorf AG, Germany. Eppendorf facilities include an applications lab and a training center apart from sales and marketing offices. Eppendorf India trains customers on specific high-tech topics such as realtime PCR and liquid handling automation. The lab also serves for demonstration purposes as a continuing exhibition of state-of-the-art research tools.

In March 2007, Eppendorf India launches ep Dualfilter TIPS. The new Eppendorf ep Dualfilter TIPS are the first filtertips with a two phase filter for contamination protection. The tips are manufactured to the highest possible quality from pure, non-recycled materials under cleanroom conditions. They are characterized by defined flow dynamics, low wettability and high thermal stability. They are certified pyrogen free and PCR clean (free from human DNA, DNase, RNase and PCR-inhibiting substances). ep Dualfilter TIPS contains well-defined different pore sizes within the two filter layers. The white layer which faces the sample retains drops, splashes and aerosols. The blue layer above it forms a highly-effective double barrier, that reliably binds even biomolecules. ep Dualfilter TIPS are not yet available in all countries.

In a novel venture, in association with Millipore India and Metrohm, Eppendorf India has launched Science Trek, a state-of-the-art laboratory on wheels for students. Science trek will visit colleges and other educational institutes all over the country. The mission of science trek is to showcase and demonstrate the latest lab equipment to students.

Apart from this, Eppendorf India offers various seminars and hands-on training courses for student to help them keep their knowledge up to date on PCR, Realtime PCR and Liquid handling. Keeping in mind the increasing demand from research, medicine and industry, the Eppendorf India Training Center offers a wide range of courses and seminars.
