Agribiotechnology Conference to be held between Nov 25-26

Biotechnology has emerged as a rapidly growing arm of applied sciences with vast potential to provide solutions to the problems facing the agriculture sector. The agricultural scenario in India suffers from several challenges affecting short and long term outcomes for stakeholders (primarily producers and consumers of food) as well as sustainability. One of the ways to achieve the target average growth of 4% in the agriculture sector is to explore bio agriculture technologies and leverage their benefits.

Biotechnology offers multiple innovative techniques to develop high yielding crops that can counter the biotic and abiotic stress associated with Indian agriculture. The strategic integration of biotechnology tools into Indian agriculture systems can revolutionize Indian farming and usher in a new era in agricultural scenario in the country.

It is in this context that the 4th National Conference on AgriBiotechnology has been designed as a unique platform to bring together all stakeholders for achieving below objectives and unlock the potential in AgriBiotechnology:

· Increasing awareness on the criticality of biotechnology in agriculture,

· Bringing additional technologies into the mainstream of knowledge by sharing knowledge and experiences on the most recent innovations, trends, practical challenges encountered, solutions adopted etc.

· Promoting healthy debate on contentious areas

· Developing a coherent view of actions needed - a "call to action" to all stakeholders
