Rank 15 - Presidency College

Presidency College, Bangalore, founded by the Presidency Group of Institutions, is affiliated to the Bangalore University and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In life sciences stream, the college offers BSc and MSc in biotechnology. MSc in biotechnology was started in 2002 and it has an intake capacity of 25 students. Dedicated faculties with their subject expertise will guide aspiring biotech students towards attaining their career goal to perfection. Eight faculties of the biotech department have more than five years of experience in moulding out excellent students and from June 2003-May 2007, 10 research papers were published in international journals including one in national journal.
There are four dedicated laboratories available at the college for biotech students, each lab can accommodate up to 30 students at a time. All the four laboratories are equipped with modern lab equipments that keep track with the changing  needs of biotech research. The library at the college has a collection of national and international scientific journals. The eligibility criteria for MSc admission includes a BSc degree with minimum of 50 percent aggregate marks and chemistry as a compulsory subject.
