Bristol-Meyers appoints a new India country head

US drugmaker Bristol-Myers Squibb(BMS) announced that Mr Jitendra Tyagi has been appointed as BMS India country head effective July 22, 2014. He will report to Mr Michael Norman, general manager - Middle East, Africa and India. Commenting on the appointment, Mr Norman said, "Mr Jitendra Tyagi has successfully performed diverse commercial roles at BMS India in the past few years. He is known for his ability to think strategically, resolve complex business challenges, connect and collaborate."

Mr Jitendra Tyagi brings a broad range of experience to his role. He joined BMS in 2010 as director-MRCEI. In the last few years, he has performed diverse commercial roles in India such as Business Unit Head, and in Market Research, Market Access, Key Accounts, Business Excellence and Patient Support Program. He was the Project Leader who ensured a smooth transition of the diabetes business as well as of the employees to AstraZeneca India. In his most recent role in BMS, he led the Critical Care and Cardiovascular Business Unit, where he also efficiently managed the alliance with Pfizer.

Prior to joining BMS India, Mr Jitendra spent more than 21 years at Novartis India in a number of leadership positions.
