P.D. Hinduja National Hospital awarded India's best multispecialty hospital

India Healthcare Awards by ICICI Lombard & CNBC TV18 recognizes P.D. Hinduja National Hospital & Medical Research Centre in Mumbai as the Best Multispecialty Hospital - Megapolis for this year. The India Healthcare Awards hosted every year is an initiative to honor and award centers of excellence and quality driven healthcare delivery institutions. In year 2011, P.D. Hinduja National Hospital was selected as the best amongst a few hundred hospitals, but this time ICICI Lombard, CNBC TV18 & IMRB has selected it as the best out of 3,000 healthcare providers.

P.D. Hinduja National Hospital started off as a refugee camp clinic in 1951. From its humble beginnings, today it is ranked as one of the leading multispecialty tertiary care hospital of the country. It has become a reality of the founder, Shri. P. D. Hinduja's vision to provide: "Quality Healthcare for All". He had a vision that no Indian should have to go abroad for cure and care.

Mr. P.P. Hinduja, who resides in Switzerland and is Chairman Hinduja Group Europe, said that this award is all because we at our Hospital work as a Parivar - a family. Both employees and patients are members of the Hospital family, allowing all to receive personalized care. He added we - the management, all medical fraternity and staff of Hinduja Hospital would like to thank ICICI Lombard, CNBC TV18, IMRB and Jury members and everyone who have recognized the work being done at our Institute.

Present at the occasion Mr Joy Chakraborty Sr. Director - Operations said, "We are thankful to the organizers and jury members for recognizing our leadership role in healthcare delivery. This award once again makes us feel proud. Our patient centric care and value added healthcare delivery will inspire us to further dedicate ourselves towards the trust, confidence and support shown by our patients and healthcare fraternity."

It has pioneered in making healthcare virtual and at the doorstep by launching Care @ Home and SSS- Short Stay Service in 2007 and 2008 respectively, along with Disease Management through Information Technology (IT) and mobile application. The hospital believes that healthcare delivery needs innovative products, which should be driven by outcomes and innovative technology driven accessibility at affordable rates.

The hospital follows one of its guiding principles "Work to Give" by having a rural program, which was launched on the 75th birthday of the Group's Chairman, Mr. S.P. Hinduja, under LGH- Live to Give Hope Fund.

 

Live to Give Hope is driven by the values given by the Institutions own Florence Nightingale, Smt. Lalita Girdhar Hinduja. The rural program is today attending more than 20 villages in the rural Maharashtra.

The award ceremony was felicitated by Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia who presented the award to P D Hinduja Hospital, COO Mr Joy Chakraborty, and head of Laboratory and Head of Laboratory Business Development, Dr Tester Ashavaid.
