Patna AIIMS may be Mr Vajpayee's birthday gift
Dr Harsh Vardhan wants to inaugurate Patna AIIMS on December 25
As per reports, Dr Harsh Vardhan has directed officials to complete the Patna AIIMS project by this year-end, at any cost so that it can be inaugurated on December 25, birthday of former PM, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The date assumes significance as Mr Vajpayee, during his tenure as the prime minister, had conceptualised the project in 2004. It was his idea to have six more AIIMS in the country, including the one at Patna.
Speaking about the delay in completion of this project, he said, "My motto is to forget the past and look into the future. The country had another government for the last 10 years and so I will not comment on it."
The Union Health Minister visited Patna on June 21 to take stock of the construction work.
