ET Edge, a subsidiary of The Economic Times, founded to empower multiple sectors, industries and segments through the dispersion of critical business knowledge through strategically developed conferences and summits on March 29, 2014 held 'The Economic Times Healthcare Summit'. 

The summit was opened by Mr Rajendra P. Gupta, president, Disease Management Association of India. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gupta mentioned, "Over the last decade, most Indian health-care providers have concentrated on expanding infrastructure to reach out to more patients through increased focus on technology, education & training. However there is a need to focus more intently on improving patient satisfaction specifically in the rural areas through innovative technology". Recognizing the increasing importance of growing healthcare needs in India, the Economic Times: Healthcare Summit aims to focus on the major developments in the healthcare sector and understand the existing challenges in the current scenario while preparing for the future.
