When heart or the lung fails initially, the oxygen is provided by ventilator. However this has limitations.

After a certain point, the ventilator cannot provide further and the rest of organs start failing. At this point "ECMO" works as a complete heart & lung support.

The Hospital under the dynamic leadership of Dr Hrushikesh U Vaidya has a well equipped Critical Care Unit, to provide acute care for those patients who are generally unstable, critically ill and those requiring advance monitoring and intensive treatment.

The critical care team comprises of highly skilled Intensivist, qualified and trained team of resident doctors and nursing staff.
