A one-day program "Sensitization Workshop on Implementation of E-courses for BTech (Dairy Technology) Degree Program" was inaugurated at the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) on January 31, 2013 under the "National Agricultural Innovation Project" of Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. The implementation of the E-courses and handling of the users' feed-back towards up-gradation of the course contents regularly, was the major focus of the workshop.

Dr AK Srivastava, director, NDRI and chief guest of the function formally inaugurated the workshop and also released the E-courses online. He emphasized that the syllabus of the courses should be constantly revised looking at the need of the society and the industry. In addition, he distributed the certificates to the teachers, who were involved in E-course development and praised their efforts for developing the contents in an excellent manner.

Dr VK Gupta, principal scientist, Dairy Technology, presented the welcome address and informed about the importance of E-courses for students in the present context.

Dr AA Patel, head, Dairy Technology said that the E-courses developed should not be taken as an alternative to classroom teaching, but these will assist in the learning process of the students. He greatly complemented the teachers who completed the assignment in time.

On this occasion, senior academic staff from all Dairy Technology colleges of India participated in the deliberations of the workshop, so as to effectively implement these online courses at their own institutions.
