Dr. Reddy's Laboratories have announced that its Board of Directors have appointed GV Prasad, presently Vice-Chairman and CEO as the Chairman and CEO and Satish Reddy, the late Dr.Anji Reddy's son, as Vice-Chairman in addition to his present role of Managing Director and COO. This change would be effective from 30 March, 2013.

The shift comes after the demise of the Founder chairman of DRL, Dr.Anji Reddy last month. Mr.G.V.Prasad, is the son-in-law of the late Dr.Anji Reddy. Mr. Prasad has lead the core team which drives growth and performance at Dr. Reddy's. He is known to be the architect of the company's successful Global Generics and API strategies, and has spearheaded Dr. Reddy's foray into Biosimilars and Differentiated Formulations.A chemical engineer from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, he additionally holds a Master's degree in Industrial Administration from Purdue University, US.

Mr.Satish Reddy, now vice chairman and MD, steers two of the company's core businesses; Pharmaceutical Services and Active Ingredients (PSAI) and Global Generics businesses. He received the 2009 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Purdue University, U.S.A. Also, he was identified as a "Young Global Leader for 2007" by the World Economic Forum. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Osmania University, India, and an M.S. in Medicinal Chemistry from Purdue University, USA.
