Millipore India's life sciences and lab water business units help customers improve laboratory productivity

Millipore India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Millipore Group with its world headquarters in Massachusetts, US registered sales revenue of Rs 177.02 crore in fiscal 2009-10 as against Rs 160.30 crore in fiscal 2008-09.

Millipore India has three business units for bioprocess, life sciences and lab water. The Indian operation of the company is headed by its president Sudhir Kant from Bangalore, where the company has its manufacturing and research facilities.

The bioprocess team of Millipore India has partnerships with the drug and vaccine manufacturers for providing high performance and innovative products/services spanning downstream and upstream processing.

In 2004, the company sets up India's first validation and PDS lab in Bangalore. Over the years, the lab has been recognized by customers as a world-class facility with dedicated technical experts providing expert advice in areas such as validation, process optimization, scale up studies for commercial manufacturing, enhancing manufacturing productivity, training and consultancy services.

The life sciences and lab water business units of Millipore India help customers improve laboratory productivity and workflows. The life sciences unit helps customers prioritize potential drugs, products and technologies to support R&D activities in life sciences.

Millipore's lab water business unit offers a comprehensive range of laboratory water purification systems including the world famous Milli-Q range. The latest introductions based on the integral platform have set a new standard in most laboratories in the country. The products are backed with extensive service support through the company's extensive network of sales offices in India.

In the area of drug discovery, Millipore has an in-depth understanding of key target classes for selectivity testing, including kinase, GPCR and ion channel profiling assays. The company also offers validated RIAs, ELISAs, and multiplex assays plus bio-analytical support for research. Millipore's extensive panels of antibodies and reagents help researchers in the areas such as cancer, apoptosis and diabetes.
