The Oxford Educational Institutions was founded in 1974 by S Narasu
Raju. The institutions cater to the needs of postgraduate students. The
department of biotechnology at the Oxford College of Science offers MSc
in biotechnology, which is affiliated to Bangalore University. It also
offers MPhil in biotechnology, which is recognized by the Periyar
University. The institute offers placement opportunities in renowned
biotech companies. The total yearly intake for MSc course is 40 and six
each for MPhil courses.
As part of the postgraduate course in biotechnology, students will be
trained to perform all requisite chemical, biochemical and
microbiological analysis of raw material and finished product. The
courses also impart technical knowledge in the area of biochemistry,
microbiology, immunology, genetics, genetic engineering, enzyme
technology, molecular biology, plant and animal biotechnology.
