BIO 2005
Biotechnology Industry Organization's (BIO) 2005 Annual International
Convention will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia on
June 19-22, 2005. This year's conference is hosted by the tri-state region of
Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. More than 18,000 biotech executives,
investors, journalists, policy makers and scientists from more than 60 countries
are expected to attend.
The convention will feature greater overseas representation with two international plenary sessions, country seminars with 16 countries presenting the latest developments in national biotechnology policies, and a ministerial seminar with federal level ministers from at least four countries. BIO will host a record number of high ranking international dignitaries leading national delegations from more than 60 countries.

Bio-Collaborations Asia
IBC Life Sciences will organize Bio-Collaborations Asia at the Boston Park
Plaza Hotel, Boston, MA, on May 18-20, 2005. The conference will explore the
issues relating to building and growing a pharmaceutical or biotechnology
business in Asia. It will feature select case experiences of US and European
companies who have ventured into Asia, either through joint venture, licensing
or outsourcing collaborations. Conference speakers will examine the challenges,
the tribulations and the successes of these partnerships.
The conference will include focused sessions on IP and Regulatory concerns in China and India, value propositions for licensing, outsourcing and offshoring to Asia, best practices and case studies of successful collaborations between East and West. IBC in association with The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) will also organize a half-day "India Pharma Forum 2005" on May 18, 2005.

BIO VentureForum East 2005
The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), in partnership with 12 state
biotechnology associations and BIOTECanada will organize BIO VentureForum East
2005 at the Intercontinental Hotel-Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia on May 9-11, 2005.
The conference will bring venture capitalists together with promising seed,
early- and late-stage private biotechnology product and platform companies from
the East Coast. It will showcase 120 individual company presentations to leading
North American venture capital firms in the life sciences field. Workshops and
plenary sessions will be offered on trends in the biotech industry, with special
focus on key success factors for early stage companies, R&D, market trends,
and financing. In addition, there will be formal and informal networking
opportunities with industry CEOs and venture capital leaders.
To ensure high quality deal flow, an advisory board made up of 30 equity capital leaders, will review and evaluate the corporate profiles of companies through an application process. Selected entrepreneurs will also attend regional BIO Venture Forum Boot Camps.

Drug Delivery World meet
Drug Delivery World, a three-day conference which will be organized by IBC
Life Sciences on May 16, 2005 in CA, USA, will serve as a targeted educational
platform for leaders in the drug delivery field to assess technology, foster
strategic relationships, find more effective ways to extend product lifecycles,
and optimize the pipeline through compound-enabling programs. The meet will

RELATENZ 2005
RELATENZ 2005, an international conference on enzyme technology will be held on
September 20- 23, 2005 at the University of Matanzas, Cuba. The meet will
emphasize on current developments on basic and applied enzymology enzyme
structure and function, biocatalysis, enzyme immobilization and stabilization.
The meet will feature plenary lectures, session lectures, oral communications
and poster sessions on enzymes in biotechnological, industrial, agricultural and

Phacilitate Vaccine Forum Spring 2005
Phacilitate's fourth annual Spring Vaccine Forum will be held on May 23-25,
2005 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The conference will provide an opportunity for

their common strategic, regulatory and technological challenges. The three-day

Therapeutics Conference
The IIR will organize a three-day conference on Immunogenicity for
Protein-based Therapeutics on May 23, 2005 in San Franciso, CA, USA. This 6th
annual conference will provide new data on assay development and validation,
screening and neutralizing assays, coupled with a concentration on the latest
process techniques and technological advancements through all new, original case
studies. As the conference has developed and grown, IIR has recognized the
challenges faced by scientists working in immunogenicity and provided the first
forum to exclusively address immunogenicity issues. For the first four years, it
focused primarily on the antibody immunogenicity for biologics and vaccines.
Beginning in 2004, and continuing through this year, it has expanded the agenda
to include the latest cell based bioassay validation, screening and neutralizing
assays, and improvement in processes and techniques.
