The unique size, shape and growth surfaces of OptiCell allows to culture, observe, monitor, analyze, and transport cells more easily and efficiently than ever before. One OptiCell frame has the same footprint as a 96-well plate and is about 6 mm thick. 20 OptiCell chambers provide the growth surface of nearly 26 T-75 flasks in less than half the space. A typical 5 cubic foot incubator can hold upto 900 OptiCell chambers. Each OptiCell has two 50 cm² gas permeable, optically clear growth membranes. About 10 ml of media covers both membranes. The membranes exchange O2 and CO2, maintaining a stable pH and optimal oxygenation of the cells. OptiCell enhances all cell culture activities from growth and magnetic separation to transfection, cloning, and drug discovery. It facilitates the production of monoclonal antibodies, cytokines, and other secreted molecules, and accommodates continuous media perfusion and recovery.

ND-1000 Spectrophotometer launched by NanoDrop Technologies

NanoDrop Technologies Inc. has come out with a new spectrophotometer, which makes UV/Vis analysis faster and easier while giving highly accurate results. It eliminates cuvettes and capillaries as the sample is pipetted directly on the measurement surface. The sample size is as small as one microliter. ND-1000 draws the sample between the ends of two optical fibers to establish the measurement path and automatically takes the full-spectrum measurement.
