Lupin has announced the launch of Lupin Diagnostics in Navi Mumbai. Spread across 45,000 sq ft, the National Reference Laboratory will provide a comprehensive range of diagnostic tests with a special focus on gynaecological tests. These include molecular diagnostics, cytogenetics, flow cytometry, microbiology, serology, histopathology and cytology, haematology, immunology, amongst others.

The lab is NABL accredited and in future will add dermatology and urology to its portfolio. Lupin Diagnostics will conduct tests for covid and is awaiting NABL certification for the same.
 
Speaking exclusively to BioSpectrum India, Rajeev Sibal, President, India Region Formulations, Lupin said, "Though we are a late entrant in the diagnostics segment, our services will have an impact on the sector."

Currently, there are 11 labs operational in the Western and Eastern part of the country and in the coming days the company is likely to foray into the Southern states. Sibal also mentioned that temperature-controlled sample collection kits are being provided to ensure that the samples are intact.

Talking about the huge scope in the Indian market, Ravindra Kumar, Vice President & Head, Lupin Diagnostics mentioned, "In the next three years, we plan to set up 100+ labs and 1000+ Lupin Mitras."
