MPCB gets gift from Chemito
On the occasion of visit of Crown Prince Philippe of Belgium, Duke of
Brabant to Mumbai, on a federal trade mission, AppliTek NV/SA, Belgium and
Chemito Technologies Pvt Ltd, jointly gifted AppliTOC (On-line TOC Analyser) to
Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), Mumbai. Mumbai-based Chemito has a
business alliance with AppliTek NV/SA, Belgium to market the latter's products
in India.
Waters publishes new life science catalog
For scientists working in well-characterized biopharmaceuticals, protein and
peptide isolation and characterization, proteomics research, and amino acid
analysis, Waters Corporation has recently published its latest life science
chemistry solutions brochure. This catalog features an array of Waters life
science chemistry solutions, including reagents and chromatography-based
products for HPLC, MS, and LC/MS applications.
Millipore makes it to Business Ethics Top 100
Millipore was ranked among the Top 100 companies selected by Business
Ethics, the international magazine dedicated to corporate responsibility, in
their issue of Spring 2005.
The companies are rated on aspects like total returns to shareholders,
community, employees , the environment , human rights and customers. A new
category of stakeholder service added this year is governance.
The 2005 list marks the sixth anniversary and over that time KLD Research And A
Boston has been the consistent source of social data for the study.
In a similar study done earlier by Global Finance magazine, Millipore was rated
among the top most companies in the area of 'Socially Most Responsible
Companies.'
Imperial gains distribution rights of Dynex products
Chandigarh-based Imperial Bio-Medic, which offers a broad portfolio of research
products and services to the biotech industry, has tied up with the US-based
Dynex Technologies, which manufactures instruments and accessories for a broad
range of scientific applications, while offering specialized services for the
customers. Imperial has gained the exclusive distribution rights of Dynex
products in India. Neeraj Gupta, corporate vice president, Imperial Bio-Medic,
said, "Imperial in its pursuit of expansion and excellence in terms of
service, support and expertise has tied up with Dynex. The platforms from Dynex
have exhibited high quality standards with diversified applications and thus
helping Imperial to realize its goal of being a total solution provider."
Fabtech receives CE certification
Fabtech Technologies International Pvt Ltd has received 'Conformite Europene'
(CE) certification for its 'Prefabricated Panels'. These panels comply with
EU GMP norms for health, safety and environment. With this, Fabtech's panels
can now be supplied anywhere in Europe or in countries where EU GMP standards
are accepted.
Fabtech has rolled out its first state-of-the-art complete ampoule filling line,
which was fabricated at its facility in Umergaon, north of Mumbai. "To
start with, we will manufacture sterilizing tunnels. The selection of
sterilizing tunnels as the first product to be launched from this facility is a
logical extension to our range of sterilizing equipments and sterile area
specialization. The existing facility too has geared up to manufacture the full
range of cleanroom equipment and modular panels. Many more such lines are slated
to roll out of the Umergaon facility this year," said K Aasif, director,
Fabtech Technologies.
Praj receives SESI award
Praj Industries Ltd has received the Solar Energy Society of India (SESI)
Business Leadership Award for Bio-fuels for the year 2004. Praj Industry bagged
the award for developing and promoting appropriate innovative technologies for
accelerated commercial development of ethanol using multifuel options with a
thrust on agro and rural industries for employment and energy security.
Dilip Valse Patil, minister of energy, government of Maharashtra, presented the
award to Pramod Chaudhari, chairman, Praj Industries at the International
Congress for Renewable Energy (ICORE 2005) held in Pune. Vinay Kore, minister of
non-conventional energy, was also present. SESI is the Indian section of the
International Solar Energy Society (ISES) and is based in Delhi.
